The village

The village of Cornudella de Montsant, located in the north of Priorat, has the greatest township of the region, with an extension of 62,70km2. It borders on  Porrera,  Morera de Montsant and Ulldemolins (Priorat), Vilanova de Prades(Conca de Barbera), and Prades,  Febro, Arbolí and Alforja (Baix Camp). In the township, there is not only Cornudella but also the villages of Siurana and Albarca.

Hermitage of Saint Joan of the Codolar; the hermitage of the cornudellenses, located in El Montsant
Its privileged geographic situation in the high valley of the river Siurana, also call the Valley of Cornudella, between the Montsant mountains (Roca Corbatera,1.166 ms.) and  Prades mountains (the Gritella, 1093 ms.). It has allowed to find in the same region two natural places as important as the Natural park of El Montsant and  Prades mountains, turning Cornudella an important point of entrance to these places.
A wonderful photography where we can distinguish Cornudella between Montsant mountains and the dam of Siurana
Le Priorat
The Priorat is recognized all over the world by its wines, and one of the activities that can be made is to discover the secrets of wine by means of visiting the wine cellars of all the region, which have two denominations of origin:  D.Or.Q. Priorat and the D.Or. Montsant. These visits can go well with the local gastronomy, enjoying the traditional cuisine from this part of Catalonia, a perfect complement for these extraordinary wines of the region.

The architectural heritage is also important. Their small villages and lovely spots have to be discovered, but if we do not have enough time, there are some places which have to be visited, like the Cartoixa d'Scala-Dei, the mines and the museum of the mines of Bellmunt of the Priorat, the Natural park of the Montsant, the wine cellars and cooperatives of the region, the small village of Siurana or many of the old hermitages which are dotted all over the region.

If you like the nature, the Natural Park of El Montsant (located totally within the region), it offers incomparable places and landscapes to enjoy the nature in pure state 100%.
